Members & Households

Manage your church members and organize family groups from the People section.

User Types

Faith Sync has two types of users:

Type Access Managed At
Admin Users Admin console access People > Admin Users
App Users Mobile app only People > App Users

Admin Users

Admin users are staff members who can access the admin console.

Viewing Admin Users

Navigate to People > Admin Users to see all administrators.

Creating an Admin User

  1. Click Add Admin User
  2. Fill in the required fields:

Admin Permissions

  • Staff - Can access admin console with limited permissions
  • Superuser - Full access to all admin features
Tip: Use the "Staff" role for most administrators and reserve "Superuser" for church leadership or IT staff.

App Users (Members)

App users are church members who use the mobile app.

Viewing App Users

Navigate to People > App Users to see all registered members.

The list shows:

  • Name - First and last name
  • Email - Account email
  • Phone - Phone number (if provided)
  • Joined - Registration date
  • Last Active - Most recent app activity

How Members Register

Members create their own accounts through the mobile app:

  1. Download Faith Sync from the App Store or Google Play
  2. Select your church
  3. Sign up with email and password (or Google Sign-In)
  4. Complete their profile

Admin users cannot create app user accounts directly - members self-register.

Each member profile includes:

Searching and Filtering Members

Use the search bar and filters in App Users to find specific members:

  • Search by name or email
  • Filter by date joined
  • Filter by last active date

Households

Households group family members together for easier management.

Viewing Households

Navigate to People > Households to see all family groups.

Each household shows:

  • Name - Household name (usually family name)
  • Members - List of household members
  • Address - Household address
  • Photo - Household image (optional)

Creating a Household

  1. Click Add Household
  2. Fill in household details:

Adding Members to Households

After creating a household, add members:

  1. Edit the household
  2. In the Members section, click Add
  3. Select an app user
  4. Set their relationship (e.g., Head of Household, Spouse, Child)
  5. Save

Relationship Types

  • Head of Household
  • Spouse
  • Child
  • Parent
  • Grandparent
  • Grandchild
  • Sibling
  • Other

How Members See Households

In the mobile app, members can:

  • View their household information
  • See other household members
  • View household address and photo

Contact Messages

View messages sent through the app's contact form at People > Contact Messages.

Message Details

Each message shows:

  • From - Member name and email
  • Category - Type of inquiry
  • Subject - Message subject
  • Message - Full message content
  • Sent - Timestamp
  • Read - Whether it's been viewed

Message Categories

  • General Inquiry
  • Donation Question
  • Event Question
  • Prayer Request
  • Other

Managing Messages

  • Click a message to view full details
  • Messages are also sent to your church email
  • Mark messages as read after reviewing

Best Practices

Admin Users

  • Limit superuser access to essential personnel
  • Use strong passwords
  • Remove access when staff leave

Member Data

  • Respect member privacy
  • Only access data when necessary
  • Keep household information current

Households

  • Create households for family units
  • Accurately track relationships
  • Update when families change

Contact Messages

  • Check messages regularly
  • Respond promptly to inquiries
  • Use categories to prioritize

Troubleshooting

Can't find a member

  1. Search by email in App Users
  2. Check spelling of name
  3. Verify they've completed registration

Member can't log in

  1. Verify their email in App Users
  2. Have them use "Forgot Password"
  3. Check if they're using the correct church

Household not showing for member

  1. Verify they're added to the household in Households
  2. Check the household is saved
  3. Have member refresh the app
